AI answers increasingly shape consideration and trust at the top of the funnel — before prospects ever reach your site, your sales team, or your brand.

The Problem

Your brand is being represented. You just don't control it.

Visibility risk

Your company is absent from AI answers. When potential consumers ask about your category, you simply don't exist in the response — while competitors do.

Reputation risk

AI describes your brand using outdated or inaccurate information. Old controversies, wrong product details, or stale narratives get surfaced at scale — before any human interaction.

Competitive positioning risk

Your category narrative is being written by competitors. AI engines are already forming views about who leads your space. You're not in the room.

Why It Matters

Four business stakes, one blind spot.

Brand perception & credibility

AI shapes trust before any human interaction.

Competitive positioning

Your category narrative is being written without you.

Commercial decisions

AI influences consideration at the earliest buying stage.

Reputation risk

Inaccurate or outdated info can spread at scale.

Case Study

When AI becomes a reputational liability.

Luxury watch brand — U.S. market

The brand had fixed its service problem. AI hadn't noticed.

A leading luxury watch brand was facing a reputation issue concentrated in the U.S. market — after-sales service. Recurring complaints across forums and review platforms described difficulties booking repair appointments, watches routed to Switzerland instead of serviced locally, and opaque timelines. The internal team had addressed most of these operationally. The brand considered the matter managed.

Operationally, yes. In the AI layer, not at all.

When a buyer asked any of the four major AI engines about the brand's customer service or repair process, they received answers synthesized almost entirely from the old complaints — forums, archived articles, Reddit threads. The brand's improvements, updated service centers, and new transparency measures simply hadn't reached the sources AI trusted. Meanwhile, two competitors were being positioned in AI answers as the service benchmarks in the segment.

What We Did

1

Mapped the source ecosystem

We identified every forum, review platform, and article shaping AI answers about the brand — and confirmed which were being actively synthesized across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude.

2

Quantified the competitive gap

We ran the same queries for direct competitors. Two brands in the same tier were already positioned as service leaders in AI answers — with less operational substance to justify it.

3

Executed a GEO remediation strategy

Authoritative content published explaining the repair process, service timelines, and why Switzerland-based repairs reflect craft standards rather than logistics gaps. Targeted placements in GQ, luxury lifestyle media, and trade publications — the sources AI engines weight highest in this category. Legacy forum content displaced over three months of coordinated authority-building.

Result

AI answers about the brand's customer service shifted from complaint-led to service-standard-led. The brand moved from absent to cited on core purchase consideration queries. Leadership added AI visibility monitoring as a permanent layer alongside traditional media monitoring — tracked monthly, benchmarked against the two competitors that had previously framed the category narrative.
