An AI Content Factory and a Voice Agent for a Fishing Guide Marketplace: +300% Revenue in a Year

A booking platform for fishing guides, in the small-business segment, where guides had no time to produce content and bookings slipped between calls. An AI content factory and a voice agent drove 300% year-on-year revenue growth, twice the conversion and 30% more returning customers.

Situation

A marketplace that lets anglers book a guide for a day on the water. Hundreds of independent guides, most of them one-person businesses. Two problems held the platform back.

No content. The guides who could sell a trip best were on the water, not writing. Listings were thin, the site had little for search engines to index, and traffic grew only with paid spend.

Missed bookings. A guide on a boat does not pick up the phone. Enquiries went to voicemail, the customer booked somewhere else, and nobody followed up with the people who had fished once and never came back.

What we built

An AI content factory. For every guide and every destination, the platform now produces the listing copy, the seasonal fishing reports, the destination pages and the social posts, from the guide's own notes, photos and catch history. A guide reviews and approves. The guides no longer create content themselves.

A voice agent. It answers the calls the guides cannot take, qualifies the request, checks availability and books or hands over. It runs after hours and during peak season, when the humans are busiest.

Automated re-engagement. Past customers get a message when their season opens, when their guide has a free date, when conditions turn good. Written in the guide's voice, sent automatically.

Results

  • +300% revenue, year on year.
  • +50% monthly traffic from the content factory.
  • About 2x conversion with the voice agent.
  • +30% return rate from automated re-engagement.

The agentic AI solution drove the growth. The guides kept fishing.

What this means for a marketplace

Content is a supply problem, not a marketing problem. When the people with the knowledge have no time to write, build the machine that writes from what they already know.

Answer the phone. For a service business, the voice agent is not a cost saving. It is revenue that was walking out the door.

The second booking is cheaper than the first. Re-engagement on a schedule, in a human voice, beats paid acquisition for anyone who has already bought once.
